There is an abundance of bird life such as Crested Barbet, Hammerkop and some canary species. The reserve's vegetation is a transition zone between Bankenveld (grass land), Sour mixed bushveld and Sour bushveld (Acacia veld).
Keep your eyes open for the national flower - the Protea which dots the hill side

Sept - Apr: 06:00 - 19:00 (summer)
May - Aug: 06:00 - 18:88 (winter)
